2017 Tryangle Youth Volunteering Awards Launched
Celebrating the volunteering achievements of young people is what the Tryangle Awards are all about and this year will be no different. The 2017 Tryangle Awards have just been launched by Worcestershire charity Young Solutions. The Awards, which culminate in a presentation evening at Worcester Bosch in March 2017, are a chance to highlight the volunteering triumphs of Worcestershire’s young people.
Award winners last year included a young person who had volunteered at a sports club, another went to a young woman who helped younger dancers at a dance school and one young woman received an award for being a dedicated carer of her younger brothers and sisters. Nominations come from teachers, social workers, youth workers, police officers, health professionals, parents, friends and anyone wants to say ‘well done’ to a young person for their volunteering. The Tryangle Awards particularly welcomes nominations for young people who have had to overcome personal, health or other difficulties in order to volunteer. In the past award recipients have included young people who have been homeless or unemployed or have experienced problems with their health.
There are six categories of the Awards including Bravery, Good Friends and Carers, Personal Achievement in Arts or Music, Personal Achievement in Sports, Citizenship and Environment and Personal Development. The Awards are now in their twelfth year and there have been many inspirational stories associated with previous recipients.
*** Nominations closed at 5pm on Monday 13th February 2017 ***
