ABC Awards in Youth Work Practice
The ABC Level 2 Award in Youth Work Practice aims to support the skills and knowledge needed to become an Assistant Youth Support Worker. The qualification is designed for people who are already working in a youth work environment in the public voluntary or private sector, paid or unpaid in an assisting or supporting role. Modules include:
- Key purpose and role of youth work including skills, knowledge, qualities and values required to practice.
- Safeguarding in a youth work setting including how to protect young people when using contemporary technologies.
- Young people’s development and how youth work can support young people during adolescence.
Young Solutions has facilitated the training for these roles for many years. As part of its Positive Activities Contract with Worcestershire County Council has been an ABC Learning Centre since 2013 and Young Solutions has recently been able to award 5 more certificates in Level 2 Youth Work Practice to local Worcestershire Youth Workers.

Gavyn Douglas – Worcestershire YMCA
Alice Byrne – Worcester Community Trust
Arthur Lockyer – Tribe
