Celebrating the Volunteering ‘Tryers’
Worcestershire’s premier annual youth volunteering Awards are being launched today Monday 7th December. The 2016 Tryangle Awards will once more offer the chance to nominate a Worcestershire young person who has shown resolve and commitment to volunteering and this year the Awards have introduced a new category that recognises the contribution of volunteer youth leaders.
The Tryangle Awards are an opportunity that should not be missed by anyone who wants to give a big public thank you for the selfless efforts of those that volunteer and give so much to their families and communities. In previous years nominations have come from family, friends, teachers, police officers, youth workers and a wide range of others that have contact with young people. You are encouraged to make your nominations for this year’s Awards. The Awards are open to all young people aged 11 – 19 or up to 24 if they have a disability and there is no age limit for those nominated in the volunteer youth leader category.
The Tryangle Awards are for the ‘tryers’. The unsung heroes who show real dedication to serving others. The Tryangle Awards always welcome nominations for young people who volunteer despite having to overcome personal challenges and difficulties. Last year’s recipients included a young carer who continued to support her family despite the loss of her brother, a young disabled woman who devoted long hours to coaching wheelchair basketball and a young man who was passionate about the environment and became a national ECO ambassador.
The Tryangle Awards are a source of pride and inspiration and the organisers of the Awards – Young Solutions Worcestershire – are delighted that one of Worcestershire’s biggest employers, Worcester Bosch, are generously hosting the Tryangle Awards presentation evening in March 2016.
Nominations are now open until 5pm on Monday 8th February 2016.
