Funding Opportunity – The Gannett Foundation

Post placeholder image

Funding is being made available by the Gannett Foundation – the charitable arm of Gannett Co Inc, the parent company of Newsquest Media Group and owner of several Worcestershire newspapers titles. Applications are invited from practical and creative projects that bring lasting benefits to the communities and neighbourhoods served by its newspapers. Projects or schemes can include neighbourhood improvement and local problem-solving, youth development, education, help for the disadvantaged or disabled, and environmental conservation. While preference will be given to ideas which create a durable legacy for the community, they will consider single events or projects of limited duration that otherwise meet our criteria.

Applicants must be registered charities and cannot have received a grant from Gannett within the last two years Gannett will not fund salaries, professional fees or day-to-day running or maintenance costs or political or religious objectives. Gannett seek applications of any size or ambition, though typically their grants are made for substantial projects which require and merit awards of between £5,000 and £10,000. They do consider much more modest applications as well, but they actively encourage adventurous projects on a larger scale.

Applications must be submitted on the approved application form which includes a list of criteria.

The closing date for applications is Friday 14th October 2016.

The completed form and supporting document should be returned by the above date to helen.clarke@midlands.newsquest.co.uk
