The biggest moment in our history is approaching

The hour is getting closer when Worcestershire Council for Voluntary Youth Services will be going through the biggest change in our history. On Monday 13th July 2015 we will be re-launched with a new name ‘Young Solutions Worcestershire’ and a new brand. If that was not enough we will also be launching our new trading arm too.

After 17 years as Worcestershire CVYS and a previous 12 years as Hereford and Worcestershire CVYS, it’s out with the old and in with the new. But it’s much more than just a change of name. We want the change to reflect a new, ambitious and confident organisation that combines the best of the voluntary sector with the public service ethic and the vibrancy of the commercial sector. We want this to be a step change in our organisation. We are changing at a time when great shifts are taking place in the sector. There’s no place for doing things as before. Things are changing and so are we. One thing that will not change though is our commitment to our members. We want to go on being Worcestershire’s youth infrastructure organisation. We want to go on offering a high quality service to our members. We want to go on being responsive and meeting our members needs.

This change has been a long time in preparation. We are not going into these changes without having given them careful consideration. But work with young people in Worcestershire needs a rallying point, someone to speak out for the sector and to offer the services most in demand. We know that we cannot go on doing business as usual as the sources of support we have looked to in the past are also changing. That is one of the reasons we are launching our new trading arm. Our hope is that the trading arm might eventually evolve into a standalone organisation. We will be announcing more about our plans in the July edition of the newsletter, but the new trading arm will focus on safeguarding with an emphasis on training, policy development and assuring standards. We will be looking beyond the voluntary and statutory sector for our customers and seeking to break new ground in the private sector.

All our members are invited to join us for the launch on Monday 13th July at Perdiswell Young People’s Leisure Club from 2.30pm. This is going to be a momentous occasion, so don’t miss being there for the launch of ‘Young Solutions Worcestershire’ a new brand and new opportunities.
