Young Solutions is really pleased to be a commissioner for Ready Steady Worcestershire. This holiday activity and food programme provides food, activities and support to families and children from nursery and primary aged, through to older children and teenagers during the school holidays.

Initially we engaged with this programme during the February half-term through the DCMS Winter Covid grants and we enabled 33 projects to be delivered across Worcestershire during this time. We are currently evaluating the February provision but the feedback from the children, families and organisations has been exceptionally positive so far.

Our success with the February programme resulted in Young Solutions being awarded the holiday activity and food programme for the Easter holidays. This is the first of three schemes funded by the Department of Education which are to be run over the main school holidays over the next 12 months. We are about to commission the provision for Easter.

Young Solutions has been very impressed with the adaptability of our partner organisations and schools to offer a range of activities and food to ensure that our most vulnerable families were offered services in the school holidays. This has been made more difficult than usual due to Covid-19 restrictions but an innovative and flexible programme has still been offered. We are proud of the role Young Solutions have played in process and look forward to continuing the role at Easter and beyond.
