Our Seek and Reach programme is a support and mentoring service for young people, offering one-to-one advice and guidance sessions, with dedicated Key Workers supporting them to apply for appropriate opportunities and pathways into education, employment and training. 

Anna left college last summer with no option of progression and spent a few months not knowing what her next steps would be. Anna was referred to Seek and Reach by her Social Worker, who said that Anna was an isolated young girl with low self-esteem, who found it difficult to maintain friendships due to her social anxiety. She was looking for support to carry out some volunteer work.

Anna was then signed up to our programme and after discussing what options were available to her with her Key Worker, she decided to sign up to a 12 month internship with Mencap. 

This internship has enabled Anna to gain many skills including personal development, basic skills and work experience. Anna is currently still on the Mencap programme and gaining work experience at a local café, who are preparing her to work independently.
