Young Solutions Launch
Keeping young people safe and involved is the purpose of new Worcestershire young people’s charity Young Solutions. Describing itself as a new style of charity, Young Solutions will provide support to voluntary youth organisations across the county and provide child and adolescent safeguarding services.
The charity was officially launched by Cecil Duckworth CBE, president of Worcester Warriors Rugby Club. Cecil Duckworth, who was the patron for the launch, said he had a long association with work with young people through sport and education. He said he was delighted to launch Young Solutions and hoped the charity would attract support for its work.
The chairman of Young Solutions, Michael Hunter, said the launch opened an exciting chapter regarding work with young people in Worcestershire. He said the charity would support volunteers and others working with young people helping to ensure there were quality opportunities.
An important part of the new charity was its trading arm entitled The Right Solutions. In the light of nationally growing concern about child sexual exploitation The Right Solutions aims to provide services to the hospitality and leisure sectors making sure they know how to react if they suspect a safeguarding issue.
Phil Street, manager of Young Solutions said ‘We have set up our trading arm The Right Solutions to help hotels, pubs and leisure centres keep their brand, staff and customers safe’ He added ‘We know the vast majority of hotels, pubs and leisure centres will never have problems with child or adolescent protection matters, but it will give them peace of mind to know they will be able to respond if they do spot something that worries them’.
Young Solutions serves youth organisations across Worcestershire, but has its offices in Droitwich.
