BACKGROUND AND INTRODUCTION
Seek and Reach is a major project managed by Young Solutions. The project is aimed at those young people aged 16 – 25 years furthest from employment, education and training.
The project works across Worcestershire, but focuses on Worcester, Malvern, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Redditch and Droitwich. The project works in partnership with a range of agencies including those that refer young people, provide services to young people and provide employment, education or training.
The project is delivered by nine key workers dispersed across Worcestershire. The project targets include re-engaging 259 young people with education, employment and training.
The key workers provide mentoring for unemployed young people who are referred to the project by Worcestershire County Council, careers advisers, Job Centres and other agencies involved with unemployed young people.
The key workers mentor a case load of up to 15 young people at any one time, and assist and support them in finding employment, training or educational opportunities.
For some young people their circumstances may make it challenging to support them into work or education. In these instances the key workers offer constructive support and may assist them by signposting them to medical, personal or financial sources of expertise.
The project involves an extremely high level of documentation and collation of data and information.
Young Solutions wants to recruit a Project Co-ordinator who will support the work of the key workers and ensure project targets are achieved.
The post is available from 1st April 2018 and the project will continue to July 2018 with the possibility of extension until March 2019.
