New Chief Officer at Young Solutions
In December we will welcome Pete Sugg as Chief Officer at Young Solutions
Pete Sugg has worked as a Manager in Worcestershire for the last 30 years. He has a wealth of management experience in the Voluntary and Statutory Sector locally. He started his career as a Play Officer with Redditch Play Council and then moved to work at Redditch YMCA in a variety of management roles over 15 years.
In 2003 Pete moved to Worcestershire County Council as a Commissioning Manager where he commissioned a range of initiatives including the Children’s Fund and Early Help.
In all these projects he championed the role of the Voluntary & Community Sector as a key provider of services in Worcestershire and having led a number of Strategic Partnerships in the region always ensured the voice of the voluntary sector is heard.
A particular area of interest is Disability Sport and in the past 30 years he has helped set up Special Olympics in the county and currently is the Chair of Disability Sport Worcester.
Pete has been married for 26 years and has 2 children. He was born in Redditch and after leaving college and spending a year working in the US he settled back in Redditch where he still lives. For leisure Pete takes part in charity runs, manages the England Blind Cricket team and enjoys the local weekly pub quiz.
