On 13th July Worcestershire Council for Voluntary Youth Service (WCVYS) will be launching its new name and brand. On that day WCVYS will be transformed into Young Solutions Worcestershire. But this is more than a change of name. Young Solutions will be a new style of charity with the creation of a trading arm entitled The Right Solutions. Young Solutions continue supporting the voluntary youth sector in the county as it always has, but more than that it will look in new directions for forming partnerships and exciting ways to generate its income.

Young Solutions will be a forward thinking charity that works with business as well as others in the voluntary sector to tackle some of the big issues facing young people. Young Solutions recognises that keeping young people safe, employed, active and aspirational involves all parts of the community that is why it plans to work with private, public and voluntary sectors.

The patron for the launch is Cecil Duckworth, president of Worcester Warriors, and he will be joined by representatives of all sectors of Worcestershire’s community at the unveiling of the new charity. Young Solutions will provide information, advice and training for the youth sector as well as prioritising tackling youth unemployment. The Right Solutions, will focus on safeguarding and child protection services for the private sector.

Manager of Young Solutions Phil Street O.B.E. says that everyone has contact with young people in one shape or form so it is important to work together to do the best we can for all Worcestershire’s young people.

‘I want Young Solutions to be a new style of charity that has the acumen and vibrancy of the commercial sector and the flexibility and diversity of a voluntary organisation.’ He continued ‘I want Young Solutions to be at the centre of a partnership involving private, public and voluntary sector organisations that exists for the advancement of young people.’
